What Is Shielding in Chemistry?
What Is Shielding in Chemistry?Shielding is a term used in chemistry that describes the mechanism of interactions of the elements with one another. A clear example of shield chemistry is the graphite in a pencil, which is a combination of carbon and oxygen. The graphite is a major element in making a pencil and it provides good shielding from the more reactive and highly reactive elements of the surface. While graphite, being the most reactive, is a very specific type of carbon found in a pencil, there are other forms of shielding. An example is when you find titanium and gold together. This is because they are used to make thin metal sheets and the surface can be used as a protective layer from other materials.Shielding in chemistry can be accomplished in many different forms, and some of them are almost random. This does not mean that any element could be used for this purpose. There are a few elements that are more well known for their ability to shield, but not all of them are as effective as others. Let's take a look at some of the commonly used shielding forms. The first basic types of shielding are covalent and ionic. In covalent shielding, bonding is established between two elements. The two elements have electrons that are in opposite places. In ionic shielding, ions are bonded together with the bonds being more like those found between molecules. Shielding can be achieved in either form by attaching an electron from one to the other. The properties of the covalent and ionic bonding will affect the amount of shielding they provide. The covalent bonding will allow shielding to take place when the two atoms are in direct contact with one another. However, if the covalent bonding is too close to the outer surface of the graphite, the shielding cannot occur. Therefore, shielding can occur, but the amount of shielding will be lower than if the two atoms were located farther away from one another. In ionic bonding, shielding can occur when the graphite is attac hed to a slightly flexible material.Another type of shielding is that known as molecular shielding. This form of shielding involves bonding between molecules of different sizes. Molecules that are smaller than the graphite will be able to shield against the stronger atoms of the graphite. The shielding of one molecule of an element versus another molecule is known as ionic shielding. In this type of shielding, an atom of the smaller molecule will attach to the outer surface of the larger molecule. For example, when a salt is bonded to a metal surface, the outer layer of the salt will come into contact with the metal. The bonds of the salt then attach to the metal and provide ionic shielding. These examples of shielding will help the student of chemistry to understand what shielding is and how it can be used. Understanding what shielding is in chemistry and how it can be used will help the student to be a successful scientist.

Teach Away Telegram - January 2013
Teach Away Telegram - January 2013 We hope all of our teachers have had a great start to 2013!In this monthâs issue, weâll address strategies for dealing with difficult students, as well as a list of essentials for your carry-on suitcase when moving overseas. Finally, our country spotlight for January is Saudi Arabia.Strategies for Dealing with Difficult StudentsEvery teacher knows the frustration of dealing with a tough student. Some kids act out because they have a difficult time learning, others might have outside emotional issues, and still others just have trouble sitting still! How you handle such students, however, can make a big difference in how you are able to manage your entire class. When faced with teaching a student who is often in trouble, try the following techniques in order to reach her and better control your classroom.1. Find out some of her interests â"Does your trouble student love comic books? Soccer? Does she have a younger sibling she loves (or one who drives her crazy)? Find out something thatâs important to her, especially if itâs something you might have in common.2. Talk to your fellow teachers â" Do you have a colleague who has had success with this student? Ask him how heâs been able to reach the student. He might have some valuable insight into techniques you havenât considered.3. Try peer help â" If your student is strong in one subject, ask her to tutor a classmate who is struggling. Helping someone can be one of the best ways for a child to increase her self-esteem and take an interest in a subject.4. Stay close â" When possible, stay in close proximity to your difficult student. Put her near the front of the class or spend a little extra time near her during group activities. It wonât address the root of the problem, but sometimes itâs enough just to keep an eye on things.5. Choose your battles â" This isnât to say that you should hold a problem student to a different standard than others. But at times itâs worth letting go of the littl e things in favor of working to resolve a larger behavior problem.6. Put yourself in her place â" It can be hard, but ask yourself why this student is acting out. Does she feel inferior to her overachieving older brother? Is her family life difficult? At best, you might be able to understand an issue thatâs bothering her. And at the very least, just reminding yourself to remain empathetic can help you keep your patience when itâs running thin!Traveling Abroad: What to Pack in a Carry-OnStarting a new job halfway around the world is already stressful. The last thing you want when you arrive is to find out that your luggage has been lost and you donât know where to get anything. These days, thereâs no reason to stuff a carry-on with entertainment options: most airlines show movies on international flights, and many travelers can use a single device for movies, music, and e-reading. Use your carry-on space for essentials:Passport and visa documentsDocumentation with your new a ddress and contact detailsMedication (be sure to check before you leave to be sure that your medication will not be a problem in your new country)Two pairs of underwear, two pairs of socks, and one thin change of clothesEyeglasses, if you arenât wearing them on the planeToothbrush and travel-sized toothpasteCell phone or computer charger â" however you plan to get in touch with family at home once youâve arrivedSmall valuablesTake care to pack items that will not cause security issues at the airport, especially if you're not sure what items are forbidden in your new country.Country Spotlight: Saudi ArabiaWorking in Saudi Arabia gives expatriates the opportunity to make a living in one of the worldâs wealthiest countries. Teachers in Saudi Arabia earn a lucrative, tax-free salary, and are generally provided accommodation and airfare in addition to their salary. Educators therefore find that they can usually save a lot during their employment. Expatriate communities thrive in S audi Arabia, ensuring that those living abroad can find a support network and familiar amenities.Saudi Arabiaâs modern state is rooted in a rich and significant history. Known as the birthplace of the Islamic religion, Saudi Arabia contains the two holiest places in Islam: Mecca and Medina. Modern Saudi Arabia has undergone rapid development since the discovery of oil, which makes up70% of the countryâs government revenue. Thanks to the oil industry, Saudi Arabia has grown into one of the richest countries in the world. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is perhaps best known in the West for its enforcement of strict societal rules. Islam governs daily life, and expats must understand and accept the countryâs laws and customs if they expect to reside in Saudi Arabia. For culturally sensitive teachers, however, the cultural immersion of Saudi Arabia can be very rewarding. Friendly hospitality, family life, and close-knit relationships form the core of Saudi Arabian interactions. Though the rules are certainly different from what Westerners are used to, most teachers find that learning to accept new customs with an open mind is the best way to truly understand and appreciate Saudi Arabian culture.Teaching in Saudi Arabia can be a challenge, but for the right teachers, it is an extremely rewarding one. Politics and Chemistry Between Man and Woman
Politics and Chemistry Between Man and WomanPope Francis is the new pope and it's important to remember that we all know him as the man who surprised the world with his interviews when he was elected. He doesn't come into power with any baggage, and this should be celebrated.Chemistry between man and woman is another topic that has made news because of this presidential election. Not many people really believe that it will make a difference, but if you look at the evolution of this country, it shows the path where man and woman and the male and female have been treading. There's no longer any doubt that the love for each other is one of the strong undercurrents in American history. These two hot topics are getting very close to each other and so I will put my views on them here. I think both these topics are interesting, but they shouldn't be considered at the same time.Chemistry between man and woman is a very long time coming. Many people were skeptical of the idea, but if you look at the general development of this country, you can see that it has come a long way. The average male and female are still having trouble with finding romance in their lives, but we can see the early signs of progress being made. This is a very sensitive subject that many people are unwilling to discuss, and there are probably many people who are saying, 'Well, we're not ready for this. It's just too soon.' You'll have to ask those people, and let them tell you what they think.Chemistry between man and woman does make a difference, but it's just as important to discuss the concept of equality, and the need for more women in leadership roles, and for more men to step up and take responsibility. That's a good way to start the discussion. His biographer writes, 'Francis is the most promising candidate for the role of the Jesus of love, like to be married and need children, like to learn and grow.' If we take these facts as well as the description given by the biographer, it's very easy t o see how this pope will help inspire some progress in our society.

Chinese Tutor Sex Clip - Hot Chinese Sex and The Life of a Chinese Teacher
Chinese Tutor Sex Clip - Hot Chinese Sex and The Life of a Chinese TeacherThe Chinese tutor sex clip is quite a recent development in the world of video pornography. However, it has already made quite an impact as a growing number of people are starting to turn to videos for their sexual entertainment. These videos are being watched by many people and are finding them very interesting as there are many different online videos to choose from. If you find any one of these videos to be interesting, why not consider adding it to your computer? In doing so, you can use it to have a fantastic time with your friends and colleagues or even some of your best girlfriends! The Chinese tutor sex clip is probably one of the most requested videos on line. There are so many types of video online and many websites charge a fee to view them. They will usually ask that you first agree to their terms of service, which include advertising on the site. However, this is really just a small price to pay for viewing their videos. The Chinese tutor sex clip is a video where a teacher is masturbating to get the student aroused. This is done by the teacher while the student is in the class and thus being in class also arouses the teacher as well. After the masturbation the teacher provides oral sex on the student until she orgasms. These videos are extremely hot as they provide the sort of intimate viewing that only the two people involved could provide. It also provides an opportunity for some much needed, kinky fun for all involved. A great deal of sex can be had if you have a DVD player with plenty of space, as there are many different classes involved. When it comes to going to a local video store, these videos are usually available at a much lower price than what you would normally pay for a DVD. This is mainly due to the fact that the teacher is basically selling her own personal body and thus getting paid quite well for her services. However, the fact that you are getting a hot, fresh a nd intimate video of the two of you having sex does put the effort into perspective. It is simply a question of finding the video that you like and spending the time to find it. It is unlikely that you will find the perfect video by sheer chance, so if you want to find one then you should look in the right places.
SAT Study
7 Ways to Support Your Student's ACT/SAT Study The ACT and the SAT are important components of any college application. However, it can sometimes prove difficult to convince your child to adequately prep for them even if he or she is normally an A+ student! While studying for the ACT or the SAT is ultimately your childs responsibility, there are ways to encourage your students efforts. Here are seven ways to support your students ACT/SAT study: 1. Help your student find the right study materials Regardless of whether your child registers for the ACT or the SAT, prep materials (like the ACT practice testsand these SAT practice tests) are a must-have. You can help find them by taking your student to a bookstore or conducting research online. Your child's guidance counselor and teachers may also be able to recommend specific resources, so encourage your student to visit these individuals as soon as possible. This willhelp your studentanalyze practice test results. [RELATED: What is an Average ACT Score?] 2. Ensure a quiet study space This might mean turning the television off or reminding your family to keep their voices low. If your child prefers to study at the library, it might also mean offering him or her a ride to and from the chosen prep spot. 3. Encourage your student to study regularly Ask your child about his or her study schedule, and prompt them to pull out their review materials if they tend to procrastinate or forget. These are some great tips on how to avoid study distractions. If your child hasnt settled on a prep schedule yet, helping them create one is a great way to support their ACT/SAT study. You may also want to consider a test prep tutorto help your child. 4. Register for the test together This process can be confusing, and it often requires a credit card number. Registering for the ACT or SAT with your student will provide a concrete prep deadline, which may encourage your child to further commit to his or her study regimen. 5. Assist with timing Another way to support your students ACT/SAT study is to help replicate the testing environment. Whenever your child completes a practice exam, you can assist by manning the timer and simulating true testing conditions. This can be especially useful for those students who may need to work on remaining focused. It can also limit unnecessary breaks. Early in the prep process, your student may require additional time to finish a full exam, and this is perfectly fine. Simply track the extra minutes, and monitor his or her improvement over time. You can also offer time management strategies if he or she continues to struggle in this area. 6. Ask for progress reports Ensure your child can answer the question, What have you been working on? Encourage your student to study the more difficult concepts, rather than just the individual problems that they may have answered incorrectly. You can also ask your child to record his or her practice test scores in a central location. Not only does this allow you to measure your childs readiness for the ACTor SAT, it also helps your student gauge their own abilities. [RELATED: What is an Average SAT Score?] 7. Talk through stress factors If your child suffers from test anxiety, talk through exactly what they fear on the ACT or SAT. Assure your child that you will supportthem no matter what the score, and be clear and reasonable with your expectations. Teaching your child relaxation techniques is another way you can support your students ACT/SAT study during a stressful time.
Standard Normal Distribution Table
Standard Normal Distribution Table Definition: - The standard normal distribution table gives the probability of a value being between a particular value of z and the mean. The whole number and tenths- palace appear in the first column of the table. Across the top of the table are the values of the hundredths place portion of the z score. To read the z score table, we always start from z=0, which represents the mean of standard normal distribution table. Standard normal curve is like a bell shape and it is symmetric figure, which means area on the each side of the mean are equally distributed and equal to 0.5. Although the values of z on the left side of the mean are negative, the area under the curve is always positive for both positive z score and negative z score because z table represent the area under the curve and area cannot give a negative value. Example: - Find the area of between z=0 and 1.06. Solution: - Find 1.0 (the portion of this z score from the z table) from the first column. For this z score, the hundredths- place value is 6, so find 0.06 from the top of the table. Since 1.06= 1.0+0.06. Then take the intersection value of 1.0 and 0.06 which is 0.3554. Another example: - Find the area between z= 0 and 2.72. Solution: - From the z table area under z=0 and 2.72 is 0.4967

Um, So What Should I Be Choosing As My First Guitar
Um, So What Should I Be Choosing As My First Guitar The Beginner Guitarist's Guide to Making the Right Choice. ChaptersHow to Avoid Ending Up With an Inappropriate Guitar? What are the Different Types of Existing Guitars and Their Features for Beginners?Choose the Right Guitar: Buying Options. In ConclusionWith eight years of practice, Iâve often had to deal with studentsâ loss of motivation, simply because of an inappropriate guitar, bought too quickly or often based on an attractive design. They don't pay an attention to the playability, the fact that it sounds great, or that its features - say its headstock, body and neck - are actually made well.Iâm Kelsey and Iâm a guitar teacher. For some, during the first purchase of a guitar, only the electric guitar matters - because it has style, it plugs into an amp, and makes noise! Acoustics or classical guitars are generally overlooked in favour of the vision of being a cool electric guitar player. The other problem that people with a new guitar find is that they expect to be a master of their musical instrument straight away. Above all, peo ple often believe that it is easier to play before they actually learn how to play the guitar. Which is not entirely wrong and you will understand why.People put a lot of value on their first guitar, so to choose well, some key features have to be kept in mind when buying. You should also be remembering the fact that, although your hands are itching to shred that fretboard, you are a beginner guitarist - and that you first and foremost need an appropriate guitar for beginners.Of course, you will evolve and progress during your guitar lessons near me and, at the same time, you will refine the type of sounds you are looking for. Also, you will probably desire to try several different sounds and styles after a few guitar lessons. Maybe you will become interested in fingerpicking, meaning you might find yourself wanting an acoustic or an electro acoustic guitar. You might find that the deeper, groovier noise of the bass guitar sounds great, and so you check out the electric bass. This is to say that you need to follow what you like, acoustically and in terms of the style of music. You will then start to acquire other guitars: itâs not uncommon to meet an amateur with several guitars. He will make his choice according to the style tackled.Pay attention and donât forget that you are a beginner. Even if itâs interesting to start with an instrument that matches your desires and musical tastes to keep the spirit up during that tough time of learning, the type of sounds coming out of the guitar should not be your first concern. Keep in mind that when you first start learning to play the guitar, you're not sure to continue... So pay attention to the cost of this first purchase: go for the low end of price, but don't compromise on quality. Also, you should have a complete guide to selecting and changing your guitar strings...What are the Different Types of Existing Guitars and Their Features for Beginners?Who is your favourite guitarist? Maybe their instrument choi ces can help you decide. There are three main types of guitars, not to mention more specific models like the Dobro for instance. The first thing that someone who wants to learn how to play the guitar should do is to choose the guitar that suits them best according to its characteristics and sound. The Classical GuitarA classical guitar is the usual choice for beginner guitarists or parents. It is perfect for styles like bossa, classical or flamenco - as these nylon string musical instruments were developed with these styles in mind. The body shape, the size of the fingerboard, and the delicate hollow body are all designed specifically for these purposes. The classical guitar is for the purists! But is not ideal for beginners. The classical guitar, as its name indicates, is initially intended to play classical pieces. However, it can also appear in other musical currents such as bossa nova, jazz or flamenco, but will be less present in styles like rock, pop, pop rock, or even funk. The clas sical guitar has a wider neck than all the others and nylon strings. Of course, nylon strings are softer than the steel strings you find on acoustic guitars, but it does not make it easier to play, quite the contrary! Depending on the material, the price of the guitar strings may vary.By default, beginners or parents tend to buy this model of guitar because it has the most affordable prices. However, the width of the neck and the more spacing between the strings can quickly hurt beginner guitar players' fingers. And the affordable price is a bit misleading: they are marketed for beginners and they are, more often than not, not great quality. Of course, you can support your guitar while playing by choosing the right guitar strap so that your arms don't get overly tired...If you wish to play bossa nova music, classical or flamenco, the classical guitar is the one you need. But if you are looking more into playing folk, pop or rock music, forget about the classical guitar and head t o an acoustic guitar. It is purely personal and taking into account my eight years of experience in teaching guitar lessons, I advise against a classical guitar to begin with. Unless, of course, you are absolutely committed to the sound produced by these musical instruments. For others, however, after some time practiced on a guitar more adapted for you, you will refine your tastes and your pursuit for sonority. Therefore, it is not impossible that the classical guitar can correspond with you afterward. For me, I only use it occasionally when I have to record melancholy themes.Discover how to choose a guitar strap, and check out the straps that Guitar Center has to offer. The Acoustic Guitar: Great for Beginners because of its Versatility and Thinner NeckThe folk guitar is ideal for beginners.Unlike the classical guitar, the acoustic guitar has steel strings and a much thinner neck. This feature makes it a versatile guitar, adapted to play a great diversity of musical styles. It is wid ely used in pop, rock, blues, jazz, and pretty much every other style you can think of.It covers a much wider range than the classical guitar. If you want to play popular pieces that you hear everywhere, play with friends, sing together, take it with you wherever you go and if your musical influences are folk, rock, pop, pop rock, variety or blues, this is the guitar you need.Despite a slightly higher price than its little sister, the classical guitar, the acoustic guitar remains an extremely versatile instrument. It covers a much larger range of music than the classical guitar and is also much easier to play thanks to a thinner neck. Itâs also more comfortable and more suited for playing current music. This is the guitar that I recommend you begin taking guitar lessons with. You'll find that the acoustic guitar comes in all different shapes - from the dreadnought to the parlor to jumbo and grand auditorium. And you'll notice in the picture above that some have a cutaway and other s don't. These changes in body style become more important as you become more familiar with the instrument, but just note now that the size of the guitar body - and consequently of the sound hole - affects the sound: some are louder and more resonant, whilst others are more gentle. If you are starting out, the best acoustic guitar might not be the dreadnought - as these are very large. The Electric Guitar More expensive and bulky than the others; less suited for beginners unless you only dream of playing rock.Choosing your first guitar is hard - but don't fret too much. The electric guitar is a guitar without a sound box: itâs the main difference with acoustic guitars. The microphones placed under the strings produce the sound. The electric guitar became a mythical instrument in the 20th century, thanks to legendary guitarists like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and BB King. The electric guitar strings are quite similar to the acoustic guitar strings (steel strings), although they are gene rally softer. The electric guitar is used for playing a vast variety of styles, from jazz to hard rock. The electric guitar's very thin neck and very low tension of the strings make it one of the easiest guitars to play. Its disadvantage, however, is that it must be connected to an amp so that the volume is correct: this implies additional purchases. The electric guitar's price also remains affordable. While it may be easier to play, it is, however, more difficult to move and involves purchasing an amp. It is not the guitar that I recommend to begin with, unless you greatly appreciate its unique style.Choose the Right Guitar: Buying Options.Acoustic: Epiphone DR-100A very good acoustic from a well-regarded brand: nice design, good playability, and great sound for the price.Acoustic: Seagull S6A new brand that makes incredibly good instruments. Pricier than other beginner instruments, but a dream to play - both for amateurs and experts.Electric: Yamaha Pacifica PAC112VOne of the most respected brands in beginner musical instruments. Classic Stratocaster shape with great price.Electric: Epiphone Les Paul Special II PackA good option for those looking for a stylish axe but with all of the accessories.Classical: Cordoba Iberia C5From the best of classical guitar manufacturers, the perfect beginner guitar.Classical: Yamaha C40A great, reliable instrument from one of the most-loved guitar brands out there. In ConclusionThe classical guitarAdvantages: Has a very soft sound, ideal for bossa nova, jazz, and flamenco.Disadvantages: It's limited in terms of style and difficult to play. The folk guitarAdvantages: A versatile guitar, adapted to playing almost any style. It has a thin neck that makes it easier and more comfortable to play. Ideal for learning to play the guitar.Disadvantages: It has steel strings, it's less flexible than nylon strings and hurts the fingers in the beginning, but that can be overcome quickly. The electric guitarAdvantages: It has a very thin neck and very weak strings that make it easier to play. It's suited for all styles (a multitude of sounds).Disadvantages: It's less portable than the folk guitar, and you also have to buy an amplifier to go with it.Now that you have all this information, you just need to decide which guitar you want to play and get started learning on the guitar that best meets your expectations: how to choose the guitar of your dreams thanks to these few recommendations.Once youâve found your dream guitar, find a guitar class around you thanks to Superprof. And for more guitar accessories?
